Meet the Founder
Virginia Verified was founded in 2021 by Nikita M. Shumaker, a Virginia-commissioned Remote Online Notary Public and Certified Notary Signing Agent, with a vision of creating a trusted, modern service that supports people through important legal and financial moments.
In August 2022, Virginia Verified officially transitioned into a Virginia-registered limited liability company (LLC) as the business expanded in scope and reach.
With extensive experience supporting real estate transactions, legal documents, and online notarizations, Nikita brings a calm, detail-oriented approach to every appointment. She understands that notarization is rarely just paperwork. It often accompanies time-sensitive decisions, major life events, and situations where accuracy, security, and trust are essential.
In addition to her notary credentials, Nikita is a Virginia-licensed Life, Health, and Annuities Insurance Agent. This dual role allows her to support clients not only at the point of document execution, but also in planning for protection, stability, and long-term security. While Virginia Verified works with a trusted network of Virginia notaries and insurance agents, Nikita remains actively involved in the day-to-day services and operations, ensuring consistency, accountability, and a high standard of care across every service offered.
What We Do
Virginia Verified provides Remote Online Notary (RON) services exclusively, allowing documents to be notarized securely through live, two-way audio-video technology. Documents are completed using a MISMO-certified Remote Online Notarization platform, supporting robust identity verification, tamper-evident document handling, and advanced fraud-prevention safeguards. Clients are served across Virginia, throughout the United States, and internationally when permitted, without the need for in-person meetings.
Virginia Verified operates with a strong focus on compliance, security, and professionalism and maintains Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance as part of its professional risk management practices. This fully online model prioritizes convenience while upholding high standards for identity verification, document security, and legal compliance.
As client needs have evolved, so has Virginia Verified. In addition to RON services, the company is expanding to include insurance solutions, such as Life Insurance, Mortgage Protection, and Indexed Universal Life (IUL) products. These offerings are designed to help individuals and families move seamlessly from document execution to long-term planning, guided by education, transparency, and thoughtful support rather than pressure or complexity.
